Canadian Couple Marry in Doughnut Shop Twice

CANADA - A Canadian couple who married in a doughnut shop without a marriage licence have returned there to tie the knot legally.

Nick Skalkos and Sarah LeRiche staged a spur-of-the-moment wedding at the Tim Hortons shop in Waterloo, Ontario.

Their minister was not recognised by the province. This time around they went to Toronto, bought a marriage licence and paid for a minister recognised by authorities in Ontario.

The couple were married in front of about 10 family members and friends, the Canoe website reports.

"We knew there would be problems with the first wedding because we didn't have a marriage licence," said Ms LeRiche.

"We always said we wanted the most unconventional, most untraditional wedding possible," Mr Skalkos said.

"Those church-and-gown weddings do nothing but conform you to live a typical married life with a job, a house, kids and all that crap."
