A New Zealand
man has proposed to his girlfriend through a newspaper cartoon
strip. The strip was carried in the Wellington Evening Post.
The man said
he's a keen cartoonist and wanted to propose in an original way.
The unidentified woman said she was impressed by his originality,
and accepted straight away.
No wedding
date has been set, reports the Evening Post.
The cartoon
featured a man and woman dining at a restaurant with him saying
to her: "You were my first love and you will be my last .
. . So will you do me the honour of marrying me?"
The man took
his prospective fiancee to a restaurant and presented a ring box
with a note saying: "Look at page 10 of tonight's Evening
Post."
The woman
said: "It was a very public proposal . . . now I just want
to remain anonymous."
